Transport of relief supplies to Namibia

The aid supplies to Namibia are packed and waiting for transport. The offers have been collected. We launch the crowdfunding. For over a year now, we have been receiving clothes, blankets, toys, small medical supplies, medical equipment and tools for the people and the district hospitals from all sides. From the heart a great MERCI to all donors!

We have pulled the material together from more than 20 locations in Belp and prepared it for transport. In doing so, we realized that we can easily fill a 20 feet container ourselves. That is why we decided to buy the container and set up a small workshop in Andara for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment and as a storage location for spare parts.

The transport costs are calculated. We work with Namibian freight specialists and the Catholic Church from Walvis Bay/Namibia. The transport is scheduled to take place in February 2020 from Belp towards Namibia/Andara. Arrival in Andara is planned for the end of March 2020.

The cost is just over CHF 12,000.00 incl. unforeseen.

Project

The project management “Aid transport to Namibia” was handed over to Martin Hunziker from Worb. Martin volunteers for Mudiro. In June 2020, he will travel to Namibia/Andara, set up the container and put it into operation. The installation of medical equipment, the storage of medical consumables, medical aids, etc. will be organized on-site in the container. To ensure the sustainability of the project, Martin will travel to Namibia again in October for a few weeks. Two missions are also planned for 2021.

We are a donor-funded NGO for medical education and training in the north of Namibia. Our donations are intended directly for this purpose. Container transport is an additional necessary project that makes it easier for us to work in the clinics when maintaining medical equipment. By crowdfunding, we want to cover the costs of the container purchase and transport.

For us to succeed, we need your help. Crowdfunding is advertised via Inst InstagramFacebook, and the website. You can follow us at Facebook and on Instagram at «mudiro_namibia». With likes, share, comment as well with your donation we can make it.  Thank you very much for your commitment!
