A container of relief supplies on its way to Namibia.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, many relief supplies such as clothes, blankets, medical supplies, medical equipment, tools, toys, and other equipment and aids were collected in Belp for the people and the district hospitals in the north of Namibia. The volume revealed the need for transport in a 20-foot sea container. We bought it with the intention of setting up a workshop in Andara for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment and as a storage location for spare parts and auxiliary equipment.

From the heart, a big thank you to all donors in Switzerland!!

The goods were loaded into the sea container in mid-February 2020 and the journey went from Belp via Antwerp and down to Walvis Bay on the high seas. It arrived there safely at the end of March. As a result of the Corona pandemic, it was temporarily stored by a transport company and we all hope that the transport to Andara will succeed in May. The distribution of the relief supplies and the installation of the container will also be delayed by the pandemic and its impact on travel activities.

The costs incurred have been calculated and we have worked with the best possible options and offers. In Walvis Bay we work with Namibian freight specialists and the Catholic Church.
